Axe Woves' Helmet, The Mandalorian (S2)
The Axe Woves helmet was a fantastic opportunity to work with new colors on a Boba Fett style helmet, instead of the usual greens and reds. This piece is an improved replica of the version seen in The Mandalorian (Season 2).
This helmet was built on my existing The Mandalorian (S2) Boba Fett helmet base. While this specific sculpt is not technically accurate to the Axe Woves helmet used in S2, the geometry is very similar and offers cleaner proportions than the actual helmet base used in the show. The helmet was cast in urethane resin, and the signature forehead dent was filled with epoxy clay.
The paint application started with a base coat of custom-mixed acrylic paints, which was finished with a matte 2K clear coat for maximum durability. Paint damage was simulated by hand-brushing multiple layers of topical chipping. This damage pattern specifically referenced the version of the helmet seen in The Mandalorian (S3) due to its higher visual fidelity. Finally, the finished helmet was fitted with a removable visor and an interior fabric liner.
